短文読解2日目-基礎編

こんにちわ。最近寒いわとおもったらもう11月なんですね。

今回は本についての短文です。

• arrange yr books...本を整頓する(arrange...手はずを整える)

棚にある本たちを正確に整頓することは難しい作業である

If you arrange them (according to their contents) /you are sure to /get an untidy shelf.

• according to...−によれば、従って

• contents...内容

• sure to ...必ず−する

本の内容によって整頓すれば、必ずだらしない本棚となる

• colour=color

• attractive...魅力的な、美しい

本の大きさや色合いによって整頓すれば、美しい本棚となる

• may do...doかもしれない

• →doの恐れがある

• lose sight of...見失う

• wantの後ろにはto readが隠れている

• →”求めている本”ではなく”読みたい本”

しかし、読みたい本が見つからない恐れがある

みなさんは、読書好きですか？

僕はたまに寝る前に読みますが、気がつくと次の日になってたりします。最近は電子書籍がありますが僕は断然、紙派です。スマホで読むことに抵抗はありませんが、本の醍醐味といえば、やっぱり実際に本屋に立ち寄って新しい本と出会うことや思います。新しい自分の発見にもなりますしね。
